Practices Required of new horses • Within one year before arrival - negative Coggins test (what is "Coggins" and why do I have to have it?) See also "My Favorites Links for more information. • Within one year before arrival, proper immunizations • Within one week before arrival, worming • Within two weeks before arrival, health certificate from vet Fed twice per day • Ample hay • Weight watched and regulated with grain Always available • Fresh Water (heated in Winter) • Mineral Salt • Regular Salt • Turn out • Fresh air Stall cleaning • Cleaned at least once each day Parasite control • Administered by owners or Horse Around Acres 3 times a year - ~April, August and December.
